Republicans haven’t found a candidate yet that celebrates universal acceptance by voters. Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan leads the field with 39 percent of Republicans saying they could support him. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (37 percent) and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (34 percent) are close behind. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (32 percent), Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (27 percent), and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (25 percent) follow. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (19 percent), former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum (17 percent), and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (15 percent) also crack double digits.
The online survey of 1002 adults was conducted December 1-6 and has a margin of error of about three percent.
